STREAM BANK STABILIZATION

The Stream Bank Stabilization project was initiated as a result of the Community Visioning project. Chris Mott chaired the committee that planned this improvement to the community and it was funded through grants secured by SACG, private donations and SACG funds. The stream bank was protected with rip rap, dirt was excavated to lessen the slope, limestone steps were installed, native flower and grass seed was planted, native shrubs were planted and the area was protected with a straw mat while the plants get established. Volunteers from the community assisted with the work of planting the native vegetation.
