SUMMER FAMILY FUN NIGHTS
June 14 and July 12, 2018
For the fourth year, SACG provided Family Fun Nights in the city park. Children enjoyed a “bouncy house”, sidewalk chalk, painting rocks, basketball activities, and lots of animals. The FFA club provided small animals to pet, the sheriff’s department’s K-9 officer Bleu was present, a miniature horse and the Cedar Valley Humane Society all were present. Children enjoyed making s’mores. In July there was kiddie waterball, water balloon toss, crafts, large frisbees, lots of bubbles, a sprinkler and snow cones. Additionally, this year the volunteers from the Fire Department provided two additional games: a remote controlled boat in a large pool and a game where children competed to squirt water into a tube. There was a great turnout each evening and families enjoyed the free activities and socializing. SACG organized and funded these nights and had assistance from the Shellsburg Public Library and Shellsburg Fire Department and Creative Kids.
