ELEMENTARY SCHOOL WINDBREAK

SACG sought and gained a grant from Trees Forever to purchase trees needed to replace the windbreak at the Shellsburg Elementary School. 46 trees were purchased from Frazier Nursery. John Frazier provided guidance to the FFA chapter, SACG volunteers and elementary students and the trees were planted. The Shellsburg Fire Department is also collaborating in this community effort by watering the trees when necessary. In addition to the windbreak, three flowering deciduous trees were purchased and planted near the bus barn.
