EASTER EGG HUNT
March 30, 31, April 1, 2021
The Shellsburg Area Community Group put on its annual Easter Egg Hunt at Shellsburg Elementary School. Over the course of the three days, there were over 4,000 eggs distributed across the playground, and collected by K-5th grade students. Although the weather was below-average cold, to say that the students had fun would be an understatement! The Easter Bunny made an appearance, and everyone had a chance to get their picture taken and say hello. With the help of the preschool team, the preschool classes were able to put on their own hunt with eggs that the SACG group supplied. The 3 and 4 year old preschool classes also got to see the Easter Bunny. The Kindergarten class claimed that this was “the best day ever!” Afterwards, the Easter Bunny visited Rock Ridge Care Center.
A huge thank you goes out to Alyssa Reynolds and her parents, Debi and Bryan, for offering to stuff and sort all of the eggs. A thank you also goes to the teachers and Mr. Davis for being open to this change for the year, due to the Derecho damages at the park and to keep it COVID-safe. Also, thank you to the volunteers who helped during the three days and those who took the time to help make adjustments to this year’s plan. It was a total success!
