In the spring of 2023 SACG members researched options for creating an endowment fund for Shellsburg. The group voted to create the Shellsburg Area Community Endowment Fund with the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa. The endowment fund is designed to create a perpetual funding stream to SACG for funding of community projects. By the fall of 2023 SACG members had made personal donations of over $10,000. The group then initiated and funded a mailing to Shellsburg residents and alumni to seek donations.
