CITY PARK PICNIC TABLES
April 30, 2025
City Park pavilion is a heavily used feature of the town's parks - families, special groups and gatherings, Big Day festivities, all use the pavilion as a central meeting spot. The existing wood and steel tables were getting worn and unattractive. SACG's Parks Committee undertook the task of researching, fund-raising, purchasing and assembling 10 new tables. The selected tables are of a composite material, which comes from recycled plastic. SACG organized a sponsorship effort, securing a sponsor for each new table. Each table contains a brass plaque recognizing the sponsor. Many thanks to Christiana Schroder at the Compass Insurance office for taking and coordinating sponsorships. Assembly was carried out by Jon Sheldon, Dave Oldakowski, Jay Herman, Bob Thorkildson, Larry Beatty, Tim Meier, Lonnie Speckner and Jim Hidinger. No one was injured, and no one got punched out, so all in all, a success. The fund-raising page, showing all the sponsors, is here.
