STEEL DRUM CONCERT
MAY 17, 2026
Shellburg's participation in the Hometown Pride program allowed Shellsburg to host the Iowa Steel Drum Band for a free concert. This group of approximately twenty University of Iowa students performed a variety of music for all ages. Their director, Dr. Dan Moore, explained the history of how steel drums first came into existence, showed how they are constructed and demonstrated the technique for playing. Thanks to Jessica Walker, our Hometown Pride coach, for bringing this concert to Shellsburg at no cost to SACG or the community.
